Women Deliver has announced that the second conference will be held in Washington DC in 2010. M4ID attended the first one in 2007 and is an avid supporter of the maternal health agenda. We’re urging the conference organizers to include sessions on new information sharing and service provision solutions, especially mobile-based ones. Maternal health advocacy and communication should also be adapting to the changing communication environment, especially to social media use, and hopefully this topic will be included in the agenda. We’re looking forward to attending and raising these issues..

We’re hoping to have a special pre-conference session with young people all about using new technologies and web tools for communicating the messages of Women Deliver and spreading the word after the conference. Plus, we’ll certainly include sessios on many of the new technologies that help improve and monitor maternal health, including mobile phones. Hope to see you there!
